"FUJARA" - a musical and art jewel of Slovakia

"Fujara" maintains its royal status among the folk musical instruments of Slovakia already for centuries. This air-sound instrument made of wood has a soft colored sound, that involves shriller tones by playing "scatter" on the beginning of the song (acoustic sample). This possibility does not allow any other musical instrument made machinely. The three tactile holes play technique enables to tune more than two octave tones (from g to g2). At the same time, every "fujara" is an unique creative work of art - an original. I ornament it by a "flower" scrimshaw, that represent the traditional folk ornamentation from the region "Podpolana".
